St. Johnsbury Athenaeum Job Openings
Library Services Team
The St. Johnsbury Athenaeum is a private, nonprofit public library and art gallery located in St. Johnsbury, Vermont. It is a regional and national treasure - a monument to the Fairbanks family nineteenth-century commitment to learning, combined with a modern mission to support its patrons’ 21st century information and continuing education needs.
The Athenaeum is restructuring its library services and seeks to build a team to support this transition. Our team of library services specialists must have skills and experience in providing traditional library services, in addition to a working knowledge of delivering programs and services in current and emerging library media and technology. The team will include full and part-time positions.
Interested candidates must provide a cover letter, resume, and a personal essay describing their vision of a 21st century library and how librarians deliver and stay current with information services in a rapidly changing environment. Candidates selected for interview will be asked to present their vision and skills to a selection committee.
Minimum requirements for these positions include the completion of a Vermont certificate of library training and at least three years of library services experience; a Master’s degree in Library Science is helpful, but not required. Competence in small team membership and small team leadership is required.
Application deadline: Open until filled.
